Check Yes or No.

Most men would probably want to just ask their bride to be in the most simple and stress free way to marry them. But society has changed this idea and men are expected to do some kind of romantic proposal. A man is expected to spend massive quantities of money on a ring because the media said so. http://www.askmen.com/dating/dating_advice_60/92_dating_tips.html
Now that the women are on board with this big ring hype, the man is forced to go along with it to please his women. If he does not agree with these ideas he may be susceptible to a break up or a "No" when the question is popped.

Now that media has control over the ring, they add in ideas about the wedding. A wedding needs to be big with many people that you hardly know, and top of the line cake, dress, and reception. I personally would like to have no input on the wedding planning. My wife can decide everything, because no one can complain about a surprise party. A surprise is always good no matter what others have chosen for you. If you are not the one who made the decisions, you cant second guess choices or stress if others agree with those decisions. Media has changed the wedding to a point of embarrassment. A wedding is good no matter what, as long as you are in good company, love is in the air, and a open bar! With a open bar people loosen up an have a good time regardless of other decisions made by the bride and groom.

  1. I agree that the media along with social norms have made getting hitched quite the wallet killer. Unfortunately in the past, and still some today, a good man was considered to be a man of wealth. In my opinion money shouldn't be a factor in anybodies marriage proposal. If a man truly loves a woman, or a man truly loves a man, or a woman truly loves a woman, or if a dog truly loves a rabbit and the other person (or animal) truly loves them back, then money shouldn't matter. It should be about what the two love birds want to do. If one of them does want to have a big fancy wedding then so be it! As long as they're doing it because they know they can spend the rest of their life with that person through thick and thin.

  2. I think media have changed the way we think what a marriage should consists no a days. The society has lost the real meaning behind a marriage. No its all about the cash, or the wedding day wont be as special as a cinderella story that every groom dreams about since she was a child.
